Remove Unwanted Habits

Take back control of your life by breaking frustrating habits. Persistent habits that you struggle with have two parts: a habitual (classically conditioned) component and an emotional component.

The classically conditioned component means that after a period of time, the behavior, such as nail biting, hair pulling, smoking, snacking, etc., becomes associated with other daily activities. For example, many smokers associate smoking with waking up in the morning or drinking their morning cup of coffee. The nail biter may associate chewing their nails with worrying or watching television. The person who snacks too much may associate eating with boredom, stress, or working on the computer. The list of associations is endless.

The emotional component is one you are likely not aware of because it is generally at the subconscious level. This is why many habits are difficult to break without hypnotherapy and the help of the subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy is the most powerful way to break these subconscious associations and can assist you in finding a much better response to your emotions. Smoking, food, nail biting, hair pulling etc. doesn't actually satisfy the uncomfortable feeling, it only distracts you from the uncomfortable feeling for a short period of time. Once the unsatisfied feeling returns, you’re likely to be driven toward the same self-destructive behavior. Once you make the connection, both consciously and subconsciously, between the feeling and a more satisfied response…you are free from the unproductive habit.
